Give each product a primary home
A product can belong to several collections, but its breadcrumb needs one stable home, or the same product will appear to live in different places depending on the route taken. Choose the home that matches how most shoppers look for it, and keep other collections as cross-links from the page. Inconsistent breadcrumbs teach visitors that the catalogue structure is unreliable, so they stop using it and fall back on search or the back button for every move. Stability is the feature. A slightly imperfect home, used consistently, serves visitors better than a clever structure that changes its mind.
